Here around Cowboy Creek, time is measured in seasons. The first tinge of red on the Sugar Maples heralds the coming of autumn. There are trips to the Huckleberry fields, veggies to can, jams and jellies to prepare. The carefree days of summer suddenly picks up pace as all of nature beckons us to share in its glory and abundance. Chipmunks’ scurry to and fro carrying a treasured acorn, bears can be seen nibbling on rose-hips and berries alike. Deer munch on the tall grasses, while crows call to one another. Hubrig’s “Children of the Autumn” (Herbstkinder) collection, captures this colorful season, and reminds us of this time of gathering and thanksgiving.
