Here at the "creek," dad was always a bit of a last minute shopper. We would bundle up and head off to town in the old blue pickup, he knew exactly where he was headed. We would tumble out behind him and disappear into the crowds, for my father the hustle and bustle of the night seemed part of the excitement.
