Ladybug Duet by Hubrig Volkskunst

Our little pair Frieda and Fritz were up early, singing Ole John Denver tunes, I think I could almost make out the the words, "thank God, i'm a country bug..." Did I mention the bugs around the creek are rather extraordinary?

Each wonderful piece is handcrafted in Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) region of Germany. Originally the people of the area made their living as coal miners, but when the coal deposits gave out they turned to the forests to make a living. Families began making their favorite figures and selling them in their homes or at local Christmas Markets, today they are sold around the world and are sought after collectibles. These fine art miniatures of wood are a perfect addition to any country décor and are sure to become family heirlooms.
