I happened to be sitting in the garden one afternoon admiring the flowers I had just planted, including this beautiful Begonia, its colors were as breathtaking as the price I had paid for it. Suddenly it began to shake, then it disappeared into the earth. I was in horror, I was under attack from a foe I couldn't even see, I quickly tried flushing the little guy out with a hose, but that only seemed to wet his whistle, I saw Mister Mole frequently after that as each day he came back for yet  another of my prized plants. I think he is saving the daffodils for dessert.   

Each wonderful piece is handcrafted in Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) region of Germany. Originally the people of the area made their living as coal miners, but when the coal deposits gave out they turned to the forests to make a living.  Families began making their favorite figures and selling them in their homes or at local Christmas Markets, today they are sold around the world and are sought after collectibles. These fine art miniatures of wood are a perfect addition to any country décor and are sure to become family heirlooms.
