"Silent Night, Holy Night," she sings while holding up her brightly colored lantern, of blue and gold. Our little Madchen is part of the Christmas parade and helps to welcome the Christkind to the local Bazaar.
Each wonderful piece is handcrafted in Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) region of Germany. Originally the people of the area made their living as coal miners, but when the coal deposits gave out they turned to the forests to make a living. Families began making their favorite figures and selling them in their homes or at local Christmas Markets, today they are sold around the world and are sought after collectibles. These fine art miniatures of wood are a perfect addition to any country décor and are sure to become family heirlooms.
