Nordic Dreams

Here at Cowboy Creek, storytelling is a part of life — what’s a campfire without a tale or two? Just the other night, I was telling my nephews about Scandinavian gnomes. “They’re akin to barn elves,” I explained, “about as tall as a grasshopper’s knee, and they take a keen interest in chores around the farm. They do wonders like grooming horses, hauling hay, and feeding rabbits.”

They were skeptical, of course, so I pointed to the corner of the barn where a small bowl of porridge sat. They raced over, returned with puzzled expressions, and asked, “What’s the porridge for?”

“Well,” I said, “like anyone else, they appreciate not being taken for granted. A bit of food keeps the homestead a little more interesting.” “Uncle Steve, are you making this up?” “No,” I answered. “I think the Scandinavians did that years ago.”

I’m excited to share a little piece of that Scandinavian folklore and culture with you. Handcrafted in the forests of Estonia — a small nation nestled beside its Scandinavian neighbors Norway, Sweden, and Finland — each Nordic Dreams gnome is made of wood, felt, and soft faux‑wool beards.

Many thanks to the folks at Nordic Dreams for keeping alive the traditions and wonders of vintage‑inspired treasures.
