Did you know donkeys are said to have incredible memories and can often remember their friends up to 25 years later? I think I could use a few of them around Cowboy Creek, as it seems some of us have trouble remembering up to 25 minutes later.
Their large ears give them an excellent sense of hearing — they can hear the call of another donkey from almost 60 miles away — and those same ears help keep them cool in warm weather. Donkeys also make wonderful guard critters for cattle, sheep, and goats, as they’re naturally protective and have a strong dislike of dogs, coyotes, and wolves.
